The day is off to a good start.  The Sun is up very radiant, warming the planet. Daylight savings time is almost here, when we Spring forward one hour in time. Think about that for a moment " Daylight Savings " saving daylight, well yes the whole idea around the advancement of time is to save energy. By shifting time to better fit with the actual time the Sun is shinning over a region, in this case when people are usually at home after work or school, well there is more daylight time available for activities before dark time when people are more prone to hit that light switch.
Later into the day we built a new feeding trough out of some of the left over scrap wood from the Solarium project for the smaller Animals. They loved it.

The weather is just like heaven should be, beautiful.  Today we spent most of the time cleaning up.

Today is off to a grand start, yet very overcast almost foglike. The winds are whooping up in a frenzy at times. We got a lot of plants sit out in pots inside the Solarium, as well took the boat out for a cruise around the Lake. It is so refreshing to get back on the water. The Geese are flying about, pairing off at times, splitting off into other smaller groups as they swarm around the area. Some disappear over the horizon squawking all the way.

The day started with the sound of wind then the clouds rolling in. Once the rain started it never quit all day long. We migrated inside the shops and worked all day.

Today will be the first of seven days of full Sun according to the weekly forecast. A very nice break from all the rain finally. We already have been sowing some grass seeds in the lower fields, and will sow more in the new pasture areas opening up below where the trees for lumber was cut. This will probably be the last week the Animals will have access to the garden areas so we can begin cultivation. This year we are hoping to have plenty of vegetables to sell to local markets. Today we will be fencing in some new areas, and adding more batteries to the Solarium Bank. When increasing your battery bank be sure to use the same type battery. In our case we are increasing in groups of two to maintain 24 volts. The trolling motor battery on the boat also will be charged with the Solar system thus making the boat a  Solar propelled vessel.

With energy being the one variable that is unpredictable on most farms here by using localized natural energy sources as a stabilizing force, we are hoping to eliminate this whole factor from the equation.

A very early start on the day, as dawn creeps across the landscape raising the fog into a somewhat  eerie other worldly glow. Even the Rooster's crow off in the distance sounds a bit cold and foreign. The Sun is still well below the horizon, but I am ready, ready to meet the challange of the light.  Now all the air is lifting the smell of that magic brew, as I await that first fresh cup of hot liquid awakeness.

I can reflect across time and space to when it was enough to live in harmony with all life, taking only what is needed, and using all that was taken. No waste, No want, Waste not , Want not...A place for everything and everything in its place...,  Benjamin Franklin -  Smart Man  discovered electricity
Imagine that!~

He didn't need to be President to change the world, all he needed was an idea.

“The practical success of an idea, irrespective of its inherent merit, is dependent on the attitude of the contemporaries. If timely it is quickly adopted; if not, it is apt to fare like a sprout lured out of the ground by warm sunshine, only to be injured and retarded in its growth by the succeeding frost.”

Written by ---Nikola Tesla

Another great man, and mentor. He never made his likeness onto a piece of paper money, but he also did a lot the change the world using original pure thought invoking ideas, invention, and innovation.
A true man out of time,

“Electric power is everywhere present in unlimited quantities and can drive the world's machinery without the need of coal, oil, gas, or any other of the common fuels.” -Nikola Tesla

The world is a great place to live because we have collectively made it so...

" Then he will judge disputes between nations and settle arguments between many people. They will hammer their swords into plowblades and their spears into pruning shears. Nations will never fight against each other, and they will never train for war again." ----- Isaiah 738 BC

Future?

Why is the world using most of its energy preparing for War?

I was told once to never say, " Never " well I just said it twice in one sentence. We call that a " Catch 22.. Well most of this world is caught up inside a " Catch 22" as if caught up inside a massive blackhole where there is no escape, but is there?

Up early watching the weather channel, as they are showing homes falling into the ocean. Large excavators are tearing them down. Seems beach front property isn't as lovely as once thought. The other day sink holes were swallowing up whole houses in Florida. As climate change Scientist are coming up with more evidence from the ice sheets about how CO2 has a direct impact on temperature in the atmosphere.  The oceans are expanding, and every thing to do with water is increasing evaporation, more floods, more rain, more snow, more ice in some areas. The severity of storms will continue to increase. What does all this mean for Farmers? Well a lot, Farmers need to be fully aware of the changes coming about in the Earth. In an age when Farmers are actually paid not to grow crops, and have insurance that covers them even if the crops fail. A lot of Farmers are losing their connection with the land, and instead are just getting comfortable with the bankers, insurance brokers, and government grant programs, chemical fertilizers, insecticides, herbicides, and hybrid seeds.

The day finished up well, for we got some fencing finished.
